Three zoos before the end of the world

Bring along your camera and I will be on that bus with you. :D I will be chartering a private jet for my trip, so there are quite a few seats available to Zoochatters.

No one wants to visit any South American or African collections? My jet has enough fuel and range....

I'd do it, I just don't know any Latin American or African zoos. I would like to see the Belize Zoo and the Mayaguez Zoo as well and the Limbe Wildlife Centre to see the Cross River Gorilla. I'm sure those continent's zoos hide hidden treasures in captivity that we couldn't see anywhere else so they're risky but clever places to visit.

When all of the 2012 Mayan-prophecy end-of-times enthusiasts wake up on December 22 and find that they still have laundry, grocery shopping, and the rest of life to deal with, I hope that they are not too disappointed.

Maybe they can go to their favorite zoo while they figure out what to do next.

They'll come up with another date for the end of the world. I wonder how they'll deal with the fact that they poored hundreds of thousands of dollars into something that didn't happen. Well at least they'll be prepared when it does- oh wait, it won't:D My brother knows a kid who has skipped several school days to prepare. Well while all those people are hidding in underground dunkers with canned sardines I'll be at school taking three tests (so far) and silently awaiting the end bell.

The world will end for hundreds of thousands of people on December 21, because that is the day that they die. How do you know that your number isn't up? ;) For all I know, my world ends today.

St. Augustine was a good one. Also, Pheonix and Moscow are good choices, too. Again, I could go on and I actually have a list I made about a year ago that's like 10 pages long and only covering some countries!

I know it is kind of late to post in this thread, but if the world were to end 3 days from right now, I would visit Gladys Porter Zoo, Berlin Zoo and Tierpark Berlin. I just want to see the Jentinks duiker at Gladys Porter Zoo, the largest animal collection on earth which is Berlin Zoo, and as an ungulate enthusiast Tierpark Berlin is a must see, if I could add a 4th one, I would say Moscow Zoo, my reason to visit Moscow Zoo is so i can see the last Silver dik dik in captivity

That's a cool list of zoos. One day I hope to visit them all too.
