I totally forgot about the duiker, I now recall the complaints on here about it not going on show.I didn't realise the tamarins were off-show, I was sure I'd seen both in Miniature Monkeys on my previous 2 visits?
I admit that I haven't been since 2010/11 though.
The birds comment was based on what I've seen posted on here, never paid that much to birds in zoos if I'm honest.
The Silver Dik-dik is on public exhibit [at least it was when I visited last year]. However, many small mammals at Moscow are off-exhibit: not just the Long-beaked Echidna but a lot of unusual rodents. Also, the bulk of Moscow's reptile and amphibian collection is off-show.
The last time I had a walk around some of the many off-show aviaries there were a lot more species there than just parrots, and not just extra pairs.
and they are Brothers Islands tuatara, the only ones outside NZ, which would be doubly disappointing for some I suspect....Likewise San Diego keep tuatara, have signs boasting about their tuatara but you can't see them! David Brown was not impressed with this state of affairs if I recall correctly!
