According to there website they have 1 male born in 2001 and a female born in 1997.
A mother and son pair I believe. I hadn't realized they were are young as they are, I thought they were older! Looks like I have hope to still get there and see them still!

Might be an idea to move them all to one collection, and try and set up a second group nearer to which ever collection stays in them!Yes, it's one of only two outside of Asia. The other one being Cologne.

You mean like they did with San Diego/Philadelphia? That then raises another question; Where would be better? Cologne, Philly or instead to a country in SE Asia?
KOELNER ZOO!
More US zoos need to become more active in exhibiting and breeding rare and endangered primates !

I agree! The Western Lowland Gorilla, Golden Lion Tamarin, Sumatran Orangutan, and Bornean Orangutan are really the only ones you often hear about (though there are, obviously, several others).

Over the EPRC? Surely that'd be the best for the animals, just not for us zoochatters though!![]()
Why? Because we now know a lot more about langur biology and the heavy task of saving species is an onus upon us. Koeln Zoo was the only one still to breed in the western hemisphere ..., so that is why. Plus they have a direct connection to Vietnam via a rescue center AND a release program. Plus EPRC cannot deal on its own with the dirge and endless stream of rescued langurs and candidates still languishing in some hellhole ... on their own.
Furthermore, several other European zoos are supporting the work of EPRC and may be in a position to participate in a renewed effort to maintain and breed some of the rarer Asian colobine primates.
- Yes that is so true. But if your looking for a good primate collection this is the place to go. They currently have 20 different species of primate on exhibit. This zoo also has good cat collections with 9 species and 4 bear species.
