Zoom Torino:
- The new Mongoose Lemur is a female, the new Red-Bellied Lemur are females, the cubs of Ring-Tailed Lemurs are a male and a female
- Arrived: a male of Steppen Eagle, an African Fish Eagle, 3 male of Siberian Tiger (brothers, 3 years old, arrived today), 2 Thomson's Gazelle
- the rhino should arrive in this month, it's name is Freddy (maybe from Le Cornelle), in this week should arrive new animals
- the Sarus Crane lay an egg
- in this years should arrive the Red-Ruffed Lemurs
- Zoom Torino will be the 2 immersion zoo of Europe

You are right, I misinterpreted my records.

Any news on what will happen next at both institutions with regards to rhinos? Fresh imports perhaps? :confused:

Maybe the 3th (or 4th if you count Terra Natura in Benidorm -Themed Park- as the 1st ) ;) the others are Bioparc Fuengirola and Bioparc Valencia.

Hmmh, even so, I don't know if I can agree. The question is: Where do you draw the line? I for myself would rate Burgers Zoo Arnhem in the Netherlands in the same categorie for example, even just most but not all of its exhibits are immersion exhibits. Same with Tierpark Hagenbeck Hamburg, Germany. And if you count pure immersion zoos only, then Erlebniszoo Hannover and Zoom Gelsenkirchen, Germany (and the zoos in Fuengirola and Valencia @Keeper mentioned already) compete with Torino as well. So I have my doubts that - at the moment - Torino (with the lack of Common Hippos and Elephants) would take the 2nd place then...

Still, I am really excited seeing the development of Zoom Torino. There is something great growing.
 
in the time, the hippos and other animals will arrive the next year
and for the next years the park would enlarge the asian exhibit and built other habitat

Zoom Torino (from 1th March):
- Finally (after an year of waiting, the White Rhino should arrive during this spring
- In April, or in May, the park will open the new area (an extension of the Serengeti habitat)
 
Yes, seems to be a common hippo. facility with under water vision.
