Zoo Atlanta Zoo Atlanta 2012-2013

So I am currently in Atlanta and I am visiting Zoo Atlanta tomorrow. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am kind of on a mini zoo road trip right now as I drive up to Chicago where I'll be working at Brookfield all summer. Visiting the St. Louis Zoo on Wednesday.

Its actually a fairly small zoo you could actually see it in the morning and see Birmingham in the afternoon.

No offense to Birmingham but if you were not going to spend a whole day at Zoo Atlanta you should consider Georgia Aquarium for the afternoon. Also visit the Pandas first while at the zoo!

I agree that if you are even slightly interested in aquariums, go see Georgia Aquarium: the two big tanks are worth it (the rest is not). But it is expensive.

AND congratulations on the Brookfield position!

the twin Giant Pandas are both male.

Is the mother still rearing one, or are they both being handraised? A news update shows them both lying on a towel together. Or is that just a temporary removal of both for the photo?

Neither are being hand raised. Just rotated when there is an opportunity. in fact the one that was much smaller at birth is now 1 gram bigger. It will be fascinating to watch these two grow.

Also u can subscribe to behind the scenes panda updates that are not posted on anywhere else by inputting your email on the zoo Atlanta website.
