San Diego Zoo Where are the kagus?

Has anybody seen the kagus at the San Diego Zoo recently? Are they on exhibit and if so, do you know where?

Last November there were Kagu in the Bus Aviary and also in the row of aviaries behind Polar Bear Plunge on the road to the old Goat Turn Around.

I went to the zoo yesterday with a group of friends, but unfortunately they did not want to search for the Kagu with me (they're not very interested in zoos/rare animals as I am). Fortunately I will be going again in August, so I was wondering, where exactly is the Bus Aviary? Also, how do I reach the aviaries behind Polar Bear Plunge? I'm not very familiar with the roads.

The bus aviary can only be seen while waiting to ride the bus (it's the only reason I ever ride the bus). The row of aviaries by sheep and goat turn around is accessed directly south of the entrance to polar bear plunge (it looks like a staff only road but that doesn't start till past the aviaries). Happy kagu hunting.

I saw the Kagu yesterday. The path to the aviaries is just left of the shop Artic Trader.

Make sure that you don't get tricked by the Palawan pigeons into thinking that they are kagus.

Thanks for the photos Betsy. I don't even remember seeing that road! I was way too preoccupied with the hoofstock across the street.
