Axe Valley Wildlife Park Axe Valley bird and animal park

The name does derive from the it's origins as a bird park. I guess the name should be 'Bird And OTHER Animal Park' but it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.
 
can't give any dates, but the website says that axe valleys recent arrivals include two blackbuck, Two indo-chinese leopard cats, and 5 reindeer. :)
 
When I visited last September I was told the Blackbuck were due to arrive the following week. Two Leopard Cats were in residence, whether or not the same ones as on the website I do not know. There was only one Reindeer though!
 
Spent an enjoyable afternoon here on Sunday, a couple of firsts for me, Raccoon Dogs and Fennec Foxes. There seems to be a lot of work going on with enclosures, so look forward to making a visit in a year or so. I wish them every success.

This seems to be one to watch. It was just a very small 'farm & bird' collection but is growing and they have acquired a number of new mammal species recently too.

They are in a very good location-with the demise of Cricket St Thomas there is no other animal park anywhere near- plus its a holiday area being near the coast, and is very easily accessible as its just off the main road.

And for those of use who use public transport it is only a relatively short level walk from the railway station! I loved it when I visited last September. ZooChatters will be happy too that it is now called Axe Valley Wildlife Park.
