Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens Latest Animal Activities 2:

Thank you for your reply, even if you don't have any news for me. Well, I'm actually also not quite sure where I heard about it and if this source was reliable. I guess I have to wait for official information. I also wrote directly to the LA zoo, but they didn't respond so far.

Hairy nosed wombats?

Hi Black duiker! Do you happen to know where the wombat came from and where it is/will be exhibited?

Thank you.

Great to see some of the Giant Horned Lizards-eggs have been hatched! Is there any information about incubation-temperature, humidity, length of incubation, egg-size and so on ?

Vogelcommando,
The staff is in the process of writing up that information for publication. I'll let you know when its published.

Any idea how many female rock wallabies were exported to Berlin Tierpark?
(it is an encouraging sign of inter regional cooperation!!! and deserves some follow up in other species too).

Yes, and hopefully some familiar ones too that have been off exhibit for some time; like boa constrictors, rainbow boas, anacondas, etc. Even the bushmasters could be transferred there from their current home in LAIR, clearing space for another non-Latin American specie.

Interesting that it mentions the 4 Lesser Kudu. Did the zoo really get 4 more or are those the same ones that we saw last year?

Good question, but since they received the other 4 way last year I can only assume that they are an additional 4.

Yes, that makes sense, and since the zoo still had the empty Giant Eland yard they could easily put them there instead of having 8 in one yard.

Also, who knew the Capron Park Zoo existed! hahaha

Thanks for the update Blackduiker! Any talk about the Rainforest of the Americas?

Also, anything else about the Sooty Mangabey? Where it came from? I had no idea there were any in the US.

How about the new Giant otter, does it mention where it came from?

Ok Ron, thanks for the updates. I really need to renew my zoo membership, I miss getting the ZooScape and ZooView issues.
