Yes it was definitely in 2002 when she told me this, I can recall saying"what, another baby elephant?", "Well the place is big enough isn't it" was her reply, I told her I wasn't suggesting the house wasn't big enough, just pleased that there could be another baby elephant, she then started to laugh , Beau the orang was present at the time, happy days:)

Seeing Beau the baby orang was one of my earliest zoo memory. I can remember seeing her in a small day room, then I returned to my pushchair. There's a short video on YouTube of Miss Badham being interviewed by a bbc journalist with Beau being a little rogue.

I have just watched it, very enjoyable, plus the bonus of Phillipa Forrester doing the interview:),thanks for the information young man.
 
I strongly advise all members to watch the You Tube video of Molly Badham, Beau the baby orang with Miss Philippa Forrester, especially to those members who are not familiar with Twycross during its original forty year direction and therefore are unable to remember a face in a name, 2002, the year that Miss Badham got a letter from Buckingham Palace, telling her she had been awarded a M.B.E.,

probably not, its something ive said the zoo could do as a cheap expansion for a while and it makes me wonder if they read these forums

last i saw the wattling was down on the walkway windows and they were busy installing new glass as well, i doubt they would do that if it was tempory

I'm glad they're doing this, I would love to see the tropical house to turn into a more bird focused exhibit with more bird species. I think it would also be a good idea to have some new large tanks in the entrances and exits for south American fish and amphibian species.

They would be better off knocking it down,which if they had any sense they would have done when they had to,shut it down as the zoo's Reptile House!Because since it became the Tropical House it has had to be shut,every few years because of problems with the roof.There are only so many times you can paper over a crack until ,it becomes to big of a problem to hide!
