Very sad news from Halle, African elephant Bibi gave birth to her 3rd baby at 9am today. She attacked the newborn calf right after birth, it did not survive. :-(
 
Yes, she did, her second birth took place at the outdoor enclosure at Tierpark Berlin without any problems.
 
Bibi gave birth again in the early hours of this morning - sadly she again attacked the calf and it didn't survive :(
