now that the peak season is over this year, i wondered if anyone has planned some zoo trips for next year?

I am hoping to visit Twycross zoo for the first time as i head up north in august maybe a trip to flamingo park and southlakes may be included

I was planning a trip troughout California to visit zoos like: San Diego Zoo, SD Wild Animal Park, Sea World SD, Oakland Zoo, San Francisco Zoo, Fresno Zoo, Santa Barbara Zoo, Sacramento Zoo, and of course Los Angeles Zoo. I still don't know if it will happen, but I hope it does.

Depending on finances and whether I get my driving license by then, I'll be attempting a snowleopard-esque trip of most of the major zoos in the UK.

My provisional list at the moment is:
- Chester
- London
- Whipsnade
- Bristol
- Paignton
- Marwell
- Edinburgh
- WMSP
- Knowsley
- Longleat
- Woburn
- Howletts
- Port Lympne
- Colchester
- Welsh Mountain
- Twycross
- Blackpool
- Dudley
- South Lakes
- Cotswolds

As I said, the plans are very much 'in the air' currently, so it may or may not go ahead.

I'm not planning to go anywhere in 2009. My 2008 plans were a disaster, mainly due to the dreadful summer we have had. Whenever I had time to visit a zoo, it seemed to co-incide with very bad weather.

I've put my experiences of a day at London in a new thread, un-enjoyable visit.

Am planing to do the Aspinall parks and maybe blackpool zoo. Not exciting but am trying to slowely tick a few of each year before heading abroad.

No matter what i do, i need to visit Edinburgh and Highland Park next year. Been a while since my last visits to London, Whipsnade and Bristol aswell so i should probably try and visit those aswell.

Hey, there's still 113 zoo visiting days left this year :p

By the end of this month, I'm hoping to do trips to Monarto Zoo, Adelaide Zoo, Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Zoo, and Healesville Santuary - haven't taken my new camera to any of these yet.

wow everyone seems to have put plans together, lets hope we have a much better summer!

Unfortunately this looks like it will be just a day-trip or perhaps an over-nighter ... have some business to do and will be catching up with my parents (probably at the zoo!)

I'll let you know when I'm over for a longer period - would be great to catch up.

The thing about visiting Toronto Zoo during the winter is that since we have quite a few warmer climate animals, alot of outdoor animals are off exhibit in the canadian winter. But,the pavilions are pretty good
