I am guessing that you are in Madagascar? Do you have a trip blog?

Apparently I haven't updated this in some time.

Mammals
31 American Mink
32 Harbor Seal

Just photo confirmed an identification I wasn't positive of.

274 Pigeon Guillemot

17 new birds yesterday. Not fully catalogued, but will have a list soon. Should get about that today if I'm lucky.

Birds
44) Magnolia Warbler
45) Scarlet Tanager

~Thylo:cool:

46) American Herring Gull
47) Common Starling

For anyone confused on why so many of my birds are lifeticks, this is due to the fact that this is/was my first year as a birder (if you want to call me that:p) so this is really the first time I've paid attention to what I've seen.

Yeah I am quite similar. I started birding a few years ago when I bought a field guide, but I only really got into it this year because of this thread! Thank you folks for igniting a passion in me. :)

I regret not being an avid birder when I visited Cairns and Kakadu a few years ago, as well as when I lived and visited many countries in Europe and the Western Hemisphere. :(

Are they introduced somewhere?

:p

They think the population originated from cage bird escapes. They are now firmly established in the metro area
