The ACTP, a society well known for breeding rare and threatened parrots like St. Vincent and St. Lucia parrots and Spix macaws, and not open to the public mention the fledging of a Red-tailed Amazon parrot. The species has already bred previously but any new results is important for this endangered species !

Is the ACTP a single parrot collection on one site, or a group of different Parrot -keeping members?

I've never been there but as I understand it right the facility is located at one place ( which is kept for obvious reassons secret ! ).

Including these 2 young they have now 9 Spix's. Basically the breeding pair and their offspring. One of the young is male the other one is not sexed yet. And ACTP is now the only collection with surplus males.

In exchange for the pair send to Brazil a Brazilian Spix macaw - the eleven year old female Turquesa - came to Germany ! She will be paired with the male Paul :).

At long last, this important individual may now have the opportunity to breed with a proven male. :)
