Highland Wildlife Park Highland wildlife park 2013

Something which seems to have gone unnoticed; the pedestrian walkway allowing full access from the ticket kiosks to the visitor centre for anyone arriving on foot or by bicycle opened on St Andrew's Day :) something I could sorely have done with when I visited last year, and which will be incredibly useful when next I visit.

Ah, that makes sense, presumably the approaches have been fenced now! Couldn't work out what it was for when I was up in October!

They were running about last time we were up. The problem with large enclosures perhaps!

Typical, I post about not seeing the wolverines and the next time I visit HWP I see them! Was there yesterday and one of them was roaming all over its enclosure for a couple of hours. The other one (browner one) showed once and then spent the rest of the time in the big thicket to the left of their indoor area. Great to see them although not easy to photograph as they do seem to keep moving at speed most of the time. However will post some pics when I sort out some semi decent ones.

Yep, that was sometimes an issue when they were at Edinburgh :p about the only time they would ever stay in one spot for any amount of time was when the male would start frantically licking the windows!

I was up the HWP again on 30th December and saw one of the wolverines again!

The Pallas cats are off show now for breeding purposes and will stay off show till mid March when only the male will return, although I assume this will only apply if the female is pregnant?
