Reptiles in zoos

Hi, I have a big interest in reptiles and keep quite a few of my own. I always enjoy going to a zoo and seeing reptiles and invertebrates. I went to London zoo last year and saw the reptiles there. My 'local' zoo is Whipsnade but I don't find their reptiles that interesting.

What I would like to ask is what zoos in the UK are best for reptiles and inverts? What zoos have quite a few reptiles and inverts? Or have rare/interesting reptiles/inverts? I am thinking of visiting a few new zoos this year or next and I would like to go to ones that have good reptiles or invertebrates

A few collections that stand out for me, within possible striking distance for you could be West Midlands safari park, Cotswolds wildlife park, Bristol zoo and if you want to travel, i'm sure Chester zoo would be worth the journey.
 
The best zoos i've been to for crocodilians are Paignton and Thrigby Hall.
I haven't been to Crocodiles of the World, but that clearly has the best collection of them though.
 
Crocodiles of the World also has a pretty good collection of Reptiles of full stop as it has atleast 3 species of monitor at present as well as a few Tortoise and Turtles species as well and a few species of Pythons as well!

As for collections that have good Reptile Collections other than London,I would have to mention Chester(although alot of the good stuff is off-show),Bristol Zoo,Cotswold Wildlife Park,West Midlands Safari Park,Paignton Zoo,Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens and Birmingham Nature Centre has a small but choice collection,but again many of the true gems are off-show.
 
If you find yourself in the Manchester area, the Manchester Museum has a small but high quality collection - which is free to visit, although it's stronger on amphibia than reptiles.

Even the most kept species have something to keep someone interested. To say that you didn't find Whipsnades reptiles that interesting is like saying "sorry mr. but i didn't see any of the animals in their enclosures today, do you have any animals?" I could not point out which zoo or collections has the better or more interesting as personally i feel that "interesting" is upto the beholder as well as the exhibitor. The collections given by gentle lemur, zoogiraffe, pipaluk & kiang are all good and worthy of visiting.
 
Thanks, Bongorob. Living over the other side of the country, I don't get to Chester Zoo nearly as often as I should like.
 
The Zoo at Drayton Manor Park near Tamworth has quite a good collection of reptiles, it is signposted off the A5 which would be straight forward from you,from where you live!
