I am already a member of this forum under the user name Scottish Sungaz and you can see my original introduction here: http://www.zoochat.com/32/greetings-scotland-137349/
I no longer have access to the email address I registered under and forgot my password!!
Anyway, not only has the Sungazer Lizard been re-classified as Smaug giganteus (previously Cordylus giganteus) but I have also built a new web site - www.smauggiganteus.com and www.saveoursungazers.com (both of which direct you to the same site)
The S.O.S Campaign (Save Our Sungazers) is all about raising awareness of the plight of Sungazers both in captivity and in the wild - check out the web site for further information and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Since my last update I have also been asked to administer the studbook for the Armadillo Lizard: Ouroborus cataphractus (previously Cordylus cataphractus)
I know of only a handful of zoological establishments within Europe that house either of these species - I am always keen to hear from anyone in either a zoological or private capacity that have experience of these lizards.
For anyone that is interested I will update (in a different post) details of the current (registered) population within Europe for both species.
