can you use feathers from zoos

I have a few feathers from a walk through at a zoo I went through a couple of years ago I was wondering if I can use them in my resin bangles and sell them. Or is there restrictions on using zoo animal feathers (picked off of the floor) thanks in advance

I doubt there would be any government/council restrictions, and I don't see how the zoo would ever know, so if you've just got a few it shouldn't matter. If you are doing it on a commercial scale then it might matter.

What species are the feathers from? There could be restrictions on trade in endangered species (e.g. CITES), but these usually only apply to trade between countries, rather than within them.

I have a couple of Chilean flamingo feathers. It wouldn't be large scale only have enough for probably two bracelets just wondered if there was restrictions

Even for domestic trade in CITES B species you need to prove you acquired them from a legal source. For live animals this means they need to be ringed and you need to keep a registry. For a part of the animal you still need to prove the legal source. If you cannot you need an EG certificate even for trade inside the UK. The easiest is to ask the zoo for a note that you got the feathers from their captive born flamingos.
