Safaripark Beekse Bergen Safaripark Beekse Bergen

The two female red duikers aren´t actually new species, as they were brought to the safaripark in 2007. But they were off-show for a long while.
The duikers now live together with the okapis in their paddocks, the lesser kudu got an enclosure + stable next to the okapis, and the greater kudu will inhabit the old forest buffalo exhibit.

The wild Eagle owls had 4 young but prop. there was not enough food for all 4 so one was killed and eaten by the other 3.... :(

The new hippo/crocodile house has been officially opened.

The parks resident breeding bull White Rhino has joined two of his sons at GaiaPark on a temporary basis. Whilst he is away the parks Rhino accommodation will be rebuilt before he returns in 2015

At the moment Beekse Bergen has 3 African elephants but they plan to build a much larger stable and in March 2015 4 new African elephants from Wuppertal will come to Hilvarenbeek.
Female Punda and her 3 offsprings Bongi (F), Pina Nessie (F) and Shauwu will enlarge the Beekse Bergen herd and hopefully help to get the herd breeding :).
