One major issue I have with the article is the following :-
Only four species of great ape? And even if the journalist is under that impression surely there is more than 2? I can think of Twycross, Berlin and Leipzig off the top of my head, there must be others as well?

Simple arithmetic would not appear to be one of their stronger points, when I was at infants school 1963 plus 50 equalled 2013, or at least it did in the late sixties, as a member of the teaching profession could you please confirm if this is indeed the case today.
I think(but am not sure from the way its written) that this refers to the Chimpanzees and isn't something seperate from that.
If so, it means modern Chimpanzee housing is still up there on the cards and in the forefront of their plans which is excellent news. It could even herald a new age of better style enclosures for many of their Primates. But will it actually happen, and when? Is it still years away yet?

I think the key word in the last section is 'ambition'. Ms Redrobe's ambition is commendable. Unfortunately ambitions are not always achieved or indeed achievable. One of my ambitions is to get to know Catherine Deneuve, but I am now no closer to achieving it than I was 40 years ago

I see that the zoo are doing their bit for protecting the environment, as from July 1st of this year they will no longer be serving visitors with bags for their purchases made in the gift shop, instead they can buy a reusable bag, similar to what Asda sell for 5p (bag for life they call it and when it is old and tatty they replace it free of charge), Twycross however will be charging customers who have been good enough to make purchases in the gift shop £2 per bag, a weird looking thing with shifty eyes, and I do not see any mention of it even being replaced like the Asda scheme, yes well, there goes another unhappy customer.
I realise you obviously have absolute wagon-loads of issues about Twycross, but does everything you post have to be so unrelentingly bitter? Well, to allude to the most recent occasion that happened, I cannot recall the last time Twycross banned people from even mentioning a deceased employee on the anniversary of their death before then posting an advertisment for feeding the animal that killed said employee!

What are you buying at the zoo that even needs a carrier bag? I might get a book, or a cuddly toy, but I can fit those in my hands.

I have no intention of using my previous nome de plume thank you, perhaps in your capacity as moderator you can arrange for me to have only my present title in use, others have changed their user names on zoochat, one member in particular who I have the upmost respect for has also done this, although that is different as he is not bullied and ridiculed on here as myself and another respected, truthfull Twycross commentator have been by the powers that be on here, I am now Animal Friendly, my title states what I actually am, regards to you all.
I cannot do so myself, but Sim is capable of merging accounts where a user has started a new account and requested their old account be subsumed into it - this being what happened with CinzooMan/Moebelle.

Thank you for taking the trouble.
It saddens me to see the once lovely Twycross Zoo (in my eyes) go from what it was to what it is now. Dirty Filthy Penguin Pool which Smells also, Dirty Filthy Otter Pool and there was even a mention on FB from a visitor there was an otter playing with a child's dummy they couldn't report it because they could not find a keeper in fact they could not find anyone, Paint Peeling off grass over grown and the place looking dirty and that it what I read on Face Book, The people that complained about the penguin pool were told it goes through a proper filter so it is clean they just don't like using chemicals, I mean what a load of utter c++p do they think the people are thick ? These people didn't come from Mars if the water was clean then why did it stink ?
Where Benji and Tooly are which is the very Old Gorilla House the grass was so long it would have been over your knees and the moat there had dirty, stagnant water in which is the first time I have ever seen that also they say they don't use cloths and things like that for enrichment but how come I saw cloths in the run where Benji is.
As for the Zebra they must be all stallions because the fighting I saw on Facebook which people would think is playing well trust me it is stallion fighting which is asking for trouble.
I think Boardman made a mess of the zoo she was like a kid in a sweetshop when it came to the money and as for Redrobe all she is thinking about is the Garden of Eden or what ever it is called, people have also mentioned it on Facebook that the money that is being made is obviously not being spent on the upkeep of the rest of the zoo and if people leave bad comments about the zoo it is taken off.
Please remember this is my opinion.
