As far as I am aware both of Themba's mates and he have bred, is it 8 cubs they had?

I believe that BIAZA have also let loose how much they frown upon white lion breeding, so it may by the last litter that he does father at WHF.
 
It was 6, I think. A litter of 4 and a litter of 2.

They won't be breeding at WHF or PWP again, not unless BIAZA change their rules at some point in the future.

There's also a chance that Tula, the Pallas cat, may be pregnant.
 
Absolutely.

My knowledge of white lions is limited but IMO a lot more research needs to be done before we decide their future.

I do think their situation is very different to white tigers but that's a whole other discussion.

white lions have been born to african lions, but in the timbavati there are pure white lion prides
The White Lions of the Timbavati
When I was there, the data was hard to put down, on the sandy soil, a white lion is a much better hunter and had a better strike rate than the African lion.

This is totally different to white tigers, white lions are born in the wild today.
 
A couple of small tidbits from their email newsletter.

Three new cheetahs have arrived.

An observation deck is being completed to offer unobstructed views of white lions.
 
-The white lion viewing platform has been finished recently. As with their breeding, from what I heard, is that there will be no-more breeding of White Lions at WHF again.

-Not sure where the new 3 cheetah from Paradise will go, maybe behind Mia and Murphy?

-Not sure if the caracal has arrived yet. But they are also looking to get golden cat and Scottish wild cat shortly.

Other news is that 2 pallas cat kittens have been born
 
Apparently the new caracal has arrived, his name is called Griffin and is currently off-show but will be on-show shortly when he settles in.
 
I'm a little worried about what's going on here.
2 of the head keepers have left in the past few months, it doesn't look good!
 
Andy Porter left a few months ago and his wife has just left.
I don't know the reasons just that they 'felt it necessary'.

Are you sure about this? The website still lists private photo shoots with Andy and they also have a page about the snow leopard trek with Andy.

Also, he is staff photographer and you said head keepers. Is he also a keeper?

Yes 100% Andy is no longer working for WHF, I saw him a couple of weeks ago at Port Lymnpe and mentioned that he is now working for the council. Its a shame as on my two visits to WHF I found him very helpful.

it was also mentioned that the Snow Leopard trek had been cancelled on a post on Facebook just before or just after Andy left.
 
A real shame because the photo tour I did with Andy at WHF was absolutely fantastic and he was really top notch. I wonder if they will still offer photo tours?

Also what is "the council" he works for? Is that another branch of Paradise Wildlife Park or part of Aspinall Parks or something completely different?
 
100% sure. The council is Ashford, I believe, nothing to do with animals.
I'm pretty sure Andy was a keeper as well as the photographer.

They are still offering the photo tours but I'm not sure how they'll work without Andy, maybe just the tour without the photography tuition.
