Where abouts are you based?
I suppose the Kuala, Melaka and Taiping Zoos are the most developped. Well, I possibly should add the new Sabah Zoo near Kota Kinabulu too!
Keep us posted? And can we have some Malayan tapirs for the EEP before long (and perhaps more coop with in situ conservation at your end)?
Have you ever been to Sungai Dusun? Now the rhino paddocks have been remodelled for captive-breeding of Malayan tapirs. They had twins born to a wild-born female last year or so!

Haven't been to much in west Malaysia, only Penang and Selangor, hmmmm, one day I hope to visit those zoos jelle mentioned, but first I want to go to the orang utan sanctuary in Sarawak, I'm not quite sure but is there also one in Sabah?

Oh this is a little late to ask but where are you excalty located in Malaysia?
In Sarawak it is Semengoh near Kuching - there was talk of resiting the sanctuary to a new site -. In Sabah you would have Sepilok near Sandakan.

oh thanks, plan to visit there one day, always drive past it when I visit my grandma's cemetery,
