RIP Robin Williams. He has been in some amazing movies. What are your favourites?
 
How sad. :(
What's even sadder is that he apparently committed suicide.

Mrs Doubtfire was good 20 years ago. And I liked Night at the Museum. I haven't seen Jumanji since it was first released, but I remember enjoying it.

I, too, enjoyed Jumanji and Night at the Museum, though I haven't seen Mrs. Doubtfire. He'll be missed. RIP.

As a film buff I admit that I've seen about 30 Robin Williams films but nothing of his from the past decade as his career had waned from its 1980's-1990's heyday.

Best 6 Films:

Good Will Hunting - Oscar winner for best supporting actor
Dead Poets Society - Oscar nomination
Good Morning, Vietnam - Oscar nomination
The Fisher King - Oscar nomination
Awakenings - I love this movie (with Robert De Niro)
Insomnia - with Al Pacino

Also, Mrs. Doubtfire has its moments and The World According to Garp is odd but interesting.
 
Every time my band class went on an overnight trip anywhere we would watch Mrs. Doubtfire (it was de riguer). In fact it was popular throughout the school. Also a staple in English classes, The Dead Poets Society.

I saw Jumanji what feels like a lifetime ago...maybe it was. I liked the book better (I always do) but I didn't find the movie objectionable.

I haven't seen any of his later films due to my habit of rarely if ever patronizing movies theaters.

This would suggest that Wensleydale is of the female persuasion. For some reason I just thought you were a bloke.

As for Robin Williams, I remember hearing that when he was doing Mork and Mindy the script usually had spots where it says "Robin impro" or "Robin goes off" and he would just improvise. I thought Mork and Mindy was silly so never watched it, but I can appreciate his comic abilities.

Enjoyed Good Morning Vietnam, Jumanji (although the CGI animals were cartoonish), Awakenings, The Bird Cage, his spot as the doctor in Nine Months, Mrs Doubtfire, Night at the Museum and the Butler. He was scary in One Hour Photo, but seeing him in Dead Poets Society was a surprise as it was the first time I saw him do something other than comedy (and I realised he was a better actor than I originally thought). Most of these I haven't seen since they came out at the movies.

Am I the only one who didn't think he was funny? In fact, I found him to be loud and annoying.
 
He also had the ability to make beings other than humans laugh.
