Booting is not a judicial punishment, more of an informal workplace disciplinary action. I've received a boot up the backside on a few occasions, and have delivered a boot to the bum a few times myself. And there have been times I've threatened to stick my boot so far up their ass that I'll leave boot polish on their teeth.
In times gone by we used to put a rocket up 'em, but there's never a rocket handy when you need one.
