Can someone tell me about this unqic zoo and about orangutans demo and mali who moved to paignton zoo thnx a lot

Exhibit

That is munster zoo's Orang Utan enclosure (hope that is help to you)

Zoolex also has information on their colobus enclosure and the lemur enclosure.

Am i right in saying that Munster has the only captive tucuxi in the world, or is it Nuremburg

Can anybody please tell me more about this tucuxi?

It´s a Male and his name is Paco. He came in 1991 to Münster, together with a other male i think. He is now over 30 years old. Now he lives alone, besides him there are 2 male Bottelnose Dolfins and a pack of Sealions.

Animal, do you know if and if yes, when he is visable? Is it only during shows, or can you walk into the dolphinarium all the time? And is he used in the show, or is he kept behind the scenes?

He is all day shown in the House. Yust during the show with the other animals, he´s in a backgrundpool, but still visible. He also has his own part in the show, but only if he want´s to.

Thanks Animal

Does anybody have any pictures of him?

What a question:

Thanks again Animal :)

No problem as always :) Any other questions? I have a years-card (dunno the right word for it, hope you know what i mean), so i´m quite often there :)

Animal, what can you tell us about the gaur at Munster are hey breeding and howmany do they have? Do you have any photos of them?
Any other news about the zoo?

The Herd ist now 1,3. 0,1 of them is the last ofspring from 2003 i think. After that no breeding. Sadly I have no pics of them, but next time i´m there i´m making a few :)

New is the Meerkat-exhibit and the rino-outdoor. Pretty big and pretty cool. Publicway is throug the meerkatexhibit (both sides glas) and the animals can cross that over a bridge.
The great opening is in April.

Thanks Animal, i had a look on their website it is brilliant especially the feature on the enclosures with the panoramic photos, they are excellent, really give you a feel for the place.

Yeah, it´s a great park, surly one of the best in germany. But some parts are still "old" (the wohle zoo was rebuild in 1974) like the Leopardcages or the dolfinarium.

Paco came 1977 to Germany, together with other Tucuxis. First he lived in Nuremberg Zoo and moved 1991 together with two other Tucuxi (Sabu and Coco) to Muenster. He is estimated nearly 40 years now and still part of the daily shows! :)

Orangutans

Regarding orangutans Demo and Mali, who are now at Paignton Zoo, does anyone know if they were kept together with all the other orangutans while at Munster?
