Yeah I hadn't thought of doing that, what a brilliant idea........ WOW it answered all my interest and information that I could hope to have gained from the extensive and respected knowledge of this forum. Why don't we just simply use the basic and very subversive information on new websites about new facilities with animals I have no idea were held there let alone where they came from....
 
Well, I happen to have a lot of knowledge about the place through friends there but because you acted so sarcastically, go find out stuff yourself. You get more flies with honey mate.
 
So you have knowledge that could have provided an insight into the facility and you know a lot about it but you referred me to the very website I listed.... Seems legit

Does anyone have any real and actual info about this place and it's collection??
 
I am not too sure but I believe that this property is owned by the Bullen family, former owners of a circus and the African Lion Safari Park in Warragamba, and most of the animals are descendant from them. I couldn't find anything on there website but I know they are home to Sabu, the last remaining elephant of the Bullen's group that were living at Australia Zoo.
 
Cheers Riley, I am rather astounded that little else is known, I mean usually the crew on here are a wealth of knowledge and interest.... I am stunned that this place hasnt been mentioned sooner, I hope they do open to the public.
 
It's been mentioned on a few other threads. But basically Riley has it. They take on animals... looking for a larger property and are hoping to open to the public in the future. They have a few exotics as well as natives and domestics.
 
I noticed something odd when reading the captions of the pictures, it says:

Does this mean there was a cub born at a zoo about 9 months ago and was sent here after being rejected?? Seems odd too me considering most zoos these days are capable of raising their own cubs.

Does anyone know which places are breeding tawnies that are possible candidates. Taronga, Dubbo, Mogo and Altina

Taronga and Dubbo no. Possibly Mogo?
 
I think you'll find that the property in question has 3 "facilities" happening there... the Bullens, Zambis (which used to be named Life on the Line Rescue), and Ben Britton's collection...

I'm not going to speculate as to where any of the crop of lion cubs were born, but I have my suspicions... my count is 5 lion cubs hand reared over the past 2-3 years...

I must say that this property is one of the few places where keepers/carers freely interact with their exotic charges... and I'd give my left boob to volunteer out there and learn a lot more about the amazing animal species they house.

Looks like I'll be giving up my left boob in a couple of weeks... lol! Just secured a volunteer position... woohoo!!!

Update: Looks like I'll be keeping my left boob for now... apparently one of the TAFE campuses has needed to place a couple more students, so I miss out this time around...

To say I'm disappointed is a bit of an understatement, but that's life in this game. Gonna enrol in that particular TAFE's Captives course, and maybe will get my shot at working at Zambi's via them...

Altina cannot breed tawny lions with our current adults
Jabari our male is vasectomised
& Narla has gone through her menopause and has not cycled for over a year (19ish yrs old)

Altina only breed white lions with 2:2 born 1st November 2014 to
Tim & Bella (originally from MOGO Zoo)
Cubs named by an auction
Kimba (the white lion - of course)
Holden Commodore (Holden for short -was sponsored by Leo Franco Holden in Griffith NSW),
Neferity (yes that's her name - named for a child that says Neferity rather than Nefertiti) &
Elsa (Named after Frozen's Queen Elsa for 5 young girls)
all cubs are white!

true true though being housed together that would not of stopped them :eek:

But the point I was trying to get at was we are not capable of breeding no matter what, with the tawny stock we have :)
 
On Monday 22nd June the Stardust Circus semi trailer arrived with three very special retirees.

Ceasar, Rory and Leo were farewelled into their retirement in true circus style with the owners, performers, crew and families all turning up to see them safely enter their new forever home.

For the past couple of months the Stardust crew worked tirelessly to build their 3 lions a new huge enclosure and we are happy to announce that the boys have settled right in.
