The Wild and Wonderful Zoo of Charleston, West Virginia's first section would be Wonderful West Virginia, starting with an old millhouse overlooking a stream with a gristmill. The millhouse would actually be a netted, 1.5 acre aviary for native bird species with trees, grass, a small stream, rocks, flowers and more. Blue jays, red-headed woodpeckers, cardinals, tufted titmice, black-capped chickadees, mourning doves, red-bellied woodpeckers and various emberizids would live in the aviary, along with gray squirrels, an eastern box turtle, and cottontail rabbits. Visitors would then go around the millhouse and past a large, rocky, clear stream with waterfalls and various formations on the top, similar to the Asian small-clawed otter exhibit at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. However, this exhibit would have a family of river otters, also viewable from a suspension bridge going over the otter habitat. The stream would twist, turn and curve into a 2-acre glass-fronted exhibit with enrichment, large pools, waterfalls, mud, sand, grass, trees, and varied terrain for a family of black bears, including rehabilitated black bear cubs. In the distance, visitors would see chickens, goats and cats over another bridge. Then, visitors would see a sign that read "Exiting South Mills Park, Southwest West Virginia". The next exhibit would be set in a small Appalachian farm town, nicknamed "Bear Creek Hollow". The farmyard would also be an interactive children's petting zoo, with various domestic cats and goats, as well as a chicken enclosure, hive of bees, and signage about Appalachian farming. Nearby would be the cafe/gift shop (in one building, called Bear Creek Provisions) as well as a restroom and ATM. Visitors would continue past the farm, meant to represent Central West Virginia. The path would lead to a part with tall buildings and simulated smoke. Sound effects would be everywhere here- rather than bluegrass and banjo music like in the other parts of the exhibit, the sound efects would be machines whirring and hammers ringing, used to represent the fictional industrial town of Henryville, West Virginia. A statue of the West Virginia legend John Henry would stand at the entrance to Henryville. Visitors would enter a dimly lit exhibit area called the Nocturnal Steel Mill, made to look like a Rust Belt steel mill. Two rows of small glass-fronted enclosures would have nocturnal animals and herps of West Virginia- screech owls, barred owls, porcupines, groundhogs, striped skunks, and a bat cave on one side, and herps on the other- such as bullfrogs, wood turtles in a stream shared with painted turtles, more box turtles, American toads, and a West Virginia stream exhibit with pickerel frogs, red salamanders, and various fish. The steel mill would empty into a cave with small terrariums for invertebrates and small mammals- house mice, Norway rats, and various species of spiders, ants and grasshoppers native to West Virginia. White-tailed deer and a flock of Canada geese would share a 2-acre exhibit outside the steel mill/cave.
Coming soon...
All of Asia
Fanaloka Reserve
Andes Mountains
Quiquihuana Cove

The whole zoo would be located in Mid-Atlantic United Sates, and about 200 acres. It would be laid out with a main path making a loop with exhibits surrounding it.

Exploration Kingdom
This area is pretty much made up of the zoo's insect house, most of the zoos reptiles, and the zoos more children-friendly animals.
Touch Paddock
You would enter the zoo, and the entrance would be simple, similar to the Smithsonian National Zoo. Around the entrance plaza would be a family restaurant, bathrooms, and a few gift shops. Then you would take a right and the first exhibit would be two waterfowl lagoons with Koi, and assorted ducks, such as White-Faced Whistling Duck, and a small perch for a Thick-Billed Parrot. Then the path would widen to surround a large pavilion that houses small mammals such as House Mice, Naked Mole Rats, Prevost's Squirrels, Four-Toed Hedgehogs and Eurasian Red Squirrels. The next enclosure is a raised quarter acre enclosure with Spotted-Necked Otters, it would have a couple small trees, brush, rocks, a small waterfall, and a pond with a small glass viewing area. Then across from the otters is a bat cave, that replicates a natural cave with large floor to ceiling windows for each species: Ruwenzori Fruit Bat, and Indian Flying Fox. Inside the cave is a cave-themed restaurant with tables of stonework. Finally there would be a Petting Zoo with Llamas, Guanacos, assorted Horses, Domestic Goats, and Three-Banded Armadillos.
Reptilian Behemoths
This exhibit will be a loop of the main path made of elevated trails showcasing the largest reptiles on the planet. The first exhibit would be a small desert-like exhibit with Desert Tortoises, Radiated Tortoises, African Spurred Tortoises, and other species of desert and scrub tortoises. The next exhibits would be an assortment of small exhibits with larger species of iguanas, and lizards, climaxing in an exhibit with a small stream and lush trees for a Komodo Dragon. On the second half of the trail would dip back to ground level to see to glass viewing areas to see swimming Chinese Alligators with a number of large, freshwater Asian turtles, and Johnston's Crocodiles in separate wetland themed exhibits.
Reptile House
This two story cylindrical would house about 75 species of reptiles, and the center would be hollowed out, and covered with a glass canopy. This area would have a path surrounding a lush rain forest themed enclosure with a small pond, that houses Anacondas. Inside would be a family restaurant, and this building would be located at the end of the Reptilian Behemoth's loop.
Insect House
Would be a small horseshoe shaped building across from the Reptilian Behemoth's loop, and house about twenty of the largest, most colorful insects in the world such as Hissing Cockroach, Giant Leaf Insect, and Bird-Eating Spider.

African Expanse
This exhibit showcases animals native to the savannas, scrub, and deserts of Africa.
African Serengeti
The first exhibit would be a large ten to fifteen acre savanna themed enclosure similar to the main savanna exhibit at Disney's Animal Kingdom, but without the tram tours. Instead there would be four overlooks off the main path to view animals in the enclosure such asSouthern Generuks, Masai Giraffe, Grevy's Zebra, Grant's Zebra, Scimitar-Horned Oryx, Bontebok, Dromedary Camel, East African Crowned Crane, Ostrich, Southern Ground Hornbill, and a couple species of Gazelle. Across from the large savanna enclosure will be a group of more savanna themed exhibits with Southern Warthog, Kirk's Dik Dik, Tree Pangolin, and Aardvark. Past the group of exhibits is a cul-de-sac with glass viewing areas to see African Penguins, and Cape Clawless Otter, with elevated paths to see them out of the water. The center of the cul-de-sac would be a small food stand, and picnic tables.
Predators of the Plains
An exhibit based on the top tier of the African food chain. The first exhibits would be two grottoes, that hold Spotted Hyenas, and Striped Hyena. Across the hyenas are three small enclosures for Fennec Fox, Southern Ratel, and Southwest African Meerkat. After the small enclosures, there would be a grassy aviary with some brush, and small trees that holds Secretary Bird. The wooden path would continue through some small grassy, and scrub-like enclosures that hold African Serval, and Caracal. Then the wooden path would widen and be lined with two glass viewing areas on one side showcasing Cheetah, and African Wild Dog in grassy enclosures with rock structures and trees. The other side would have a larger enclosure with trees, and a large kopje for African Lion. Beside the lions would be a African themed restaurant that has glass viewing areas to see the lions while you eat.
Spires of the Savanna
This exhibit would showcase animals native to the rock structures of the African savanna. It would be a loop of the main path surrounded by artificial rocks to replicate the actual kopjes in Africa. The first exhibits would be aviaries with rock structures, and brush holding African Pygmy Falcon, Bateluer Eagles, and five other kopje birds. Then the path would become elevated to view the Klipspringers, and two hyrax exhibits with Bush Hyrax, and Rock Hyrax. Then the path would drop back down to ground level to end the loop with two aviary-like enclosures with rock structures, and grassy areas that hold Dwarf Mongoose, and South African Bat-Eared Fox.

Meilimonkey that sounds like a great exhibit! Wouldn't you be afraid the hyraxes would hybridize?

Im not sure this is really the right place for this as its less of a fantasy and more something that I genuinely want to happen in a few years time but oh well..

basically my idea is to open a rescue centre in Europe for zoo animals that have come from bad zoos, circuses, have been kept as pets e.c.t I know there are places like this already (lionsrock in South Africa is what Im mostly thinking of here) but they are all either very small and not able to hold a lot of animals, or they are a long way from Europe, meaning expensive and stressful journeys for the animals.

obviously, I cant really plan what animals would be in the zoo- I imagine there would be a lot of lions, tigers and bears (oh my) from zoos and circuses as well as things like lemurs, small monkeys, parrots, reptiles that people have tried to keep as pets (a friend of mine suggested that if the zoo was near Heathrow animal centre or similar I could also take in illegally imported animals)

I really want to see if people on here think this is something that can actually be done and if the public would visit it and donate money to help with animal rescues

Exotic Jungle Part 1
I split this exhibit section into three parts, because it is so huge, as it has over sixty percent of the zoo's animals. This section showcases the animals of the worlds rain forests.
Amazonia
This exhibit would have many of the rare, and charismatic animals of the amazon in a jungle themed exhibit area. It would start with a forest like lagoon holding Black-Necked Swan, and Scarlet Ibis. Then further down the main path would be a series of aviary like enclosures, with lush plants, rock structures, and climbing areas for Brazilian Tree Procupine, Peruvian Black-Capped Squirrel Monkey, Colombian Brown Spider Monkey, Pygmy Marmoset, Tufted Capuchin, White-Fronted Capuchin Monkey, Two-Toed Sloth, White-Faced Saki Monkey, Lesser Anteater, Coatimundi, Prehensile-Tailed Porcupine, Golden Lion Tamarin, Kinkajou, and Chinchilla. Next on the path would be a jungle themed restaurant slightly hidden in rain forest plants, and an artificial rock structure called Jungle Grill. Across from the restaurant would be a small trail beginning with two small jungle enclosures for Margay, and Ocelot. Then the path would end in a large glass viewing area into a large, lush enclosure for Jaguar. Back on the main path beside the restaurant would be two enclosures for Maned Wolf, and Giant Anteater. The path would then widen, and be surrounded by aviaries each holding a species of macaw, with in all six species of macaw. Then their would be medium sized enclosures with lush plants, rocks, and small ponds, and waterfalls for Baird's Tapir, Capybara, and Lesser Rhea. Finally this exhibit area would end with the path widening to surround the lush rocky exhibit for Andean Bear, with glass viewing areas to look in.
Hummingbird Aviary
This is a small walk through aviary with a little creek and waterfall. There would also be medium sized artificial rocks, and lots of jungle plants. Inside the aviary would be three species of hummingbird, and nearly ten species of other tropical birds.

Sorry for the delay I had to redo this area twice, because I kept changing my mind.
