Yeah. That would be a better decision. It is just weird that they hold a Asian species with Africans. It is such a pity they haven't imported any yet.*sign*.It is a huge waste of species.

Again as said before it just comes down to the "will" as mentioned else where the antelope species for the region a couple of years back were Impala and Sable which could be imported as soon as the new IRA rules are completed. Putting Indian Blackbuck into a African exhibit is a cheap and easy way out for TWPZ not something one would expect of a major zoo!

Most people on this forum are animal lovers and know their blackbucks from their impalas. In my opinion the majority of visitors to Dubbo are holiday makers that are drawn to the zoo for a day out. They wouldn't be to bothered by an asian animal living with an african one. i don't see the big deal. Until we get impalas and other african antelope it will do.
Also the link didn't open. What are they spending the money on? Any new exhibits planned or just touch ups for the existing ones?

It doesn't seem like a huge deal. But it is a bad collaboration seeing as they are a major zoo. As they have opened the new African savannah tour it looks as if they will now be focusing on a Asian themed enclosure with otters, saimangs and tigers.Though it has not been confirmed.
