and that is correct! Marinus Boeseman collected zoological specimens in New Guinea from October 1954 to May 1955. Amongst the many rainbowfish he caught was this species, although the collection itself wasn't actually studied until Gerald Allen looked through them between 1975 and 1977. The species was described in 1980, and first entered the aquarium hobby in 1982.
