Twycross Zoo The Giraffes are coming & £55m make over

Saw the giraffe house today for the first time and I liked it, gave the impression of being a very big space compared to the houses when your at 'eye level' which I'm not a fan of. The largest of the 3 was separated from the other 2, is that just while they are acclimatising? There seemed to be a lot of work going on all round the zoo which although meant I couldn't see some animals, can only be taken as a good thing, as it looked like they are really investing and improving

The Amur leopards were blocked off completely as they were working on the pathway in front. The Amazon house was shut which meant you could only see the spider monkeys and titi monkeys if they ventured out.

And yeah they are adding the extra storey currently, the orangutans are still in there, just means you're dependent on them being outside to view them
 
Twycross Zoo Progress

I haven't been to Twycross in 2 years and after my visit on the 28th April I was very impressed. The zoo has said it was making chnages and it can be seen. The gibbon Walk thorugh being built, lots of new enclosures around such as the lemur walk through, Lorikeet Landings, Butterfly House, etc plus there have been some noticeable changes to the already present enclosures.

Does anyone have any news re Twycross such as incoming species etc?
 
Hi sorry to say I doubt if the lions will ever go back to Twycross it is getting more like a children's Theme park what with the wet and wild play area.
