Spring Migration

Storms have been threatening every weekend in April, so a lot of my plans are getting shot down at the last minute. I had a back-up this weekend though. I've been seeing ungodly reports of migrants coming from the southeast corner of Texas (a place called Sabine Pass). Weather conditions were right with a stalled front over the area. Which makes for...

FALLOUT!

23 new year birds

12 lifers
And more mosquito bites than I can count.

One more today on a trip to the Fort Worth Zoo

305 Green Heron - Butorides virescens

Few more birds from around Melbourne city and the Mornington Peninsula over the last couple of weeks, including one lifer in a wetland a short walk from my house. 74 White-browed Scrub Wren Sericornis frontalis

A few more birds; a couple from around the house, some from out by Werribee, and the rest from my recent trip back to New Zealand. Unfortunately I didn't keep a list in NZ (or do any real birding), so I might have missed a couple of species.
