Probably my last update this year, I am flying back to Zurich in a few hours and I do not expect to see anything new in Switzerland / Netherlands.

very good - that only took a month of waiting. :p

I'm still in awe of how you manage to see all your birds in alphabetical order. That must take quite some pre-year organising skills!

Now we are just waiting on zooboy28, who is taking even longer than nanoboy, and then I can post all the final tallies.

(In the meantime, I'm taking out my Hungry Hungry Hippo game).

It shouldn't be much longer, and my list won't be as long as nanoboy. Nor as alphabetical...

I have edited my final tally post from a few weeks ago to add one or two taxa I saw so often I forgot to add them! As such, my final total is 191 rather than the originally reported 189 :) I may well have missed other taxa, but I won't bother looking over my figures a third time!

After posting my sighting, I later found out that the hedgehog I saw in Warsaw was actually a Northern White-breasted Hedgehog Erinaceus roumanicus but I forgot to post that here. This doesn't affect my year total since I didn't see any hedgehogs elsewhere in Europe last year, though it does add to the mammal totals as others saw E. europaeus.
