Rare Species Conservation Centre RSCC closing

Ferdinand was definitely going to Nashville but I can't remember if they planned to send the younger palm civet or their breeding pair (I'm assuming they only had 1 anyway) with him. There were definitely at least 3 animals going, that's all I remember.
Maybe they have decided to send all of the civets though.

They also lost one of their female clouded leopards (Padma) a few days before they closed.

Yeah, the reference I made above to my suspicions about the destination of the Banded Civets was to Nashville :) a real shame if all the individuals held by RSCC (which at one point represented multiple breeding pairs, I believe) have gone Stateside.

Not a surprise, as Wroclaw has recieved a few treasures from RSCC in the past, but nonetheless it is something of a shame that a treasure such as this could not be retained within the UK :( especially when one considers the fact it may not be too long before the last echidna at Paignton passes away - I believe he is only a few years from surpassing the lifespan record.

Agreed, a great shame! Sadly it appears that very few of the other treasures are likely to end up in UK zoos either!

The person who gave me this information didn't specify where they're going to be moved to but I do think so since I saw Hamerton has an already available enclosure for Malayan Tigers (Panthera tigris jacksoni).
Also, the reliability of this person is indisputable as she was a volunteer at the Rare Species Conservation Centre and she got the information by Todd on my personal request.

hamilton or hamerton

could someone please clarify if possible which zoo. Hamerton is in the uk Hamilton is in new Zealand. a big difference

As MalayanTiger noted, they intended to say Hamerton but the source who told them the tigers were leaving did *not* tell them where they would be moving to; the suggestion they might be coming to Hamerton is purely guesswork on MalayanTiger's part based on the fact the aforementioned collection is preparing an enclosure for the species.

The information I have heard in the past regarding from where Hamerton will source their new tiger stock, however, would tend to indicate this guess is incorrect.

Unless you mean a private collection, there is nowhere in Hamilton, Scotland for the tigers to go.... and if you did mean Hamilton why did you then say you thought it would be Hamerton?

I just clarified the Hamilton mentioned by my source is most likely the one located in Scotland but this has nothing to do with the fact I suppose Sahaja and Cicip will be moved to Hamerton.

I have to specify this is a hypothesis, therefore it is not an incontestable certainty.

Nothing like sitting on a fence when the reliability of a source is questioned!!

I got this information by a volunteer who is still in touch with Todd zoogiraffe. I do not want to write her name for a matter of privacy, the reliablity of a person can't be estimated by the knowledge of his/her name for sure.

I suspect zoogiraffe is sceptical about the reliability of your information not because of the identity of your source, but the fact you initially said your source had told you the tigers were going to Hamilton:

This morning I was told .... will likely go from RSCC to Hamilton and they are supposed to go on 28th of the current month.

But then when asked if you meant Hamerton, you said your source had not named a collection at all:

The person who gave me this information didn't specify where they're going to be moved to

Before saying they *had* specified a collection:

The Hamilton I'm referring to is in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

I just clarified the Hamilton mentioned by my source is most likely the one located in Scotland

I suspect that this conversation is almost wholly academical :D
