The only collection in the UK that you can see a.....

I sure I have seen somewhere that Axe Valley have Amur Leopard Cat,I could be wrong!

They definitely have Indochinese, but I would not be surprised if the Galloway animal has been sent down south!

Also worth noting that at present the Genet at Hoo Farm is off-show!

Fair enough; knew the squirrel they received at roughly the same time was on-display now, so thought the genet might have been.

Durrell, however, does have black lion tamarins. But that isn't exactly ''mainland'' UK.

Considering the only other collection with them now is Magdeburg - which holds extremely geriatric animals and therefore won't hold the taxon for much longer - I suspect these are one of the "highlights" of Durrell, and a taxon which may be spoken of in the same breath as Sumatran and Northern White Rhinoceros by future zoonerds.

I was very delighted to see them on my visit last summer. Sadly they don't receive nearly as much public attention as golden lion tamarins in general.

Thought I would give non-passerine birds a crack next :) this one will probably not be quite as comprehensive as the mammal one, due to the much greater number of bird taxa in the UK and thus greater scope for error, but once again I will highlight any "unique in Europe" taxa with italics. I will also omit any native species, unless they are a non-native subspecies of particular note.

The list would, of course, be a lot more interesting were it not for the demise of Blackbrook Zoo...... :(

Shame that they have lost the woodpeckers - I believe they held 2,2 until quite recently, so the loss must have been pretty rapid.

You need to remove Australian Thick-knee (Burhinus grallarius) and replace it with Peruvian Thick-knee (Burhinus superciliaris).

Annoyingly the listings for Lotherton is very outdated, so can't be used very easily for this collection (I keep on meaning to make a note of species when I visit, but keep on not having enough time).

Passerines now - same caveats and notes as last time.

The Catbird, Mynah and Munia are no longer at Birdworld. I was at Paulton's Park about a year ago and saw Black-throated Magpie-jays there too, unless they have been moved on.

Birdworld has seriously lost a lot of their oddest stuff in recent months then! :(

I know the Catbird and Mynah were moved onto other collections, unsure about the Munia. Zootierliste for Birdworld is extremely out of date. Some of the birds listed on there haven't been there for years.
