Zooman Dec, 8 day UK tour 2015

HI all,
I hate to say it as so many of you have very generously provided many insights and ideas on my UK zoo tour but i am not going to tour the UK this week.
The weather reports are hideous and the idea of being stuck on a highways in traffic jam covered in snow is just not tempting!
So i am going to Spain for a week :]
I am thinking
Valencia
Terra Natura
Cabarceno
Madrid
Loro Parque
Thoughts?

this may be a silly thing to say.... but you do know that Loro Parque is in the Canary Islands, yes? Seems a strange inclusion if you only have a week.
A short flight from Madrid and has been on my wish list a long time.
Also average temp of 23 deg atm!

Sounds like a great idea - I'd be tempted to increase selectivity in mainland Spain. Faunia, also in Madrid, has a great venom exhibit along with an interesting penguin enclosure and nocturnal house.
Cabarceno is a great distance away from all this. I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle to go to the north coast of Spain for such a short time.
Valencia is an impressive zoo city. Bioparc doesn't take too long to visit, but the Oceanografic is easily a whole-day affair, even if you're not a huge aquarium man (I think).
I don't know about Terra Natura, having never visited.
I would be more tempted to have three foci for the trip; Madrid, Valencia and the Canaries. In the Canaries you could easily include Jungle Park in Tenerife and the smallish collections nearby like monkey park and Siam park. Alternatively you could get a ferry to Gran Canaria and visit Palmitos Park.

This morning at Rotterdam Zoo finishing off what I did not see yesterday then Ouwehands Zoo followed by Amersfoot. In a "Zoo chatter heaven" with Burgers tomorrow.
Have taken heaps of photos and plan to write reviews for all the zoo's on my return home flight next Monday.
All my last minute changes have been well worth it as I have not had a single day of rain in the past 5
