Managed to see mammal number five this afternoon hunting among flowerpots in my back garden - a very special treat considering I have not seen one locally for quite some time.

Added a couple of species on an unexpected weekend in Budapest (we were planing on a different trip but the gods of aeroplanes had other ideas and we had to change plans at very short notice. Luckily we're spoiled for choice in Europe for interesting and affordable weekend zoo trips!).

Managed to find the time to take a walk down the road this afternoon - as well as some very nice local species that I have already seen this year including goldcrest, kingfisher and three goosander (a local patch lifer), I also managed to add one new bird for the year:

I have seen one new mammal since the last update, as well as a couple of corner-of-the-eye sightings of what may have been either a vole or weasel.

Due to certain circumstances, I haven't had the time or opportunity to go out birding, though I hope to be able to this weekend.
