Does Anyone Know what the Next Development After the New Elephant Conservation Centre Due to Open Early 2017 At Whipsnade Will Be?
I Heard that The Butterfly House plus Crocodile Facility was Phase 1 and The Next Phase Will Be A Reptile House and An Aquarium
Also the Dinosaurs (AKA Zoorassic Park) Will be At Whipsnade from 23 July until 4 August.
The Dinosaurs Include:
Brachiosaurus
Coelophysis
Dilophosaurus
Edmontonia
Quetzalcoatlus
Triceratops
Tyrannosaurus Rex (T- Rex)
Stegosauras

The reptile house plans have already been started slowly. If you go into the discovery centre at the moment it is very empty due to many of the reptiles being moved behind the scenes or some have been moved to London. Parts of it have also now been shut off to allow for improvement works
So Will the Discovery Centre Become the Reptile House or Do you think they will Build a Separate Reptile House Altogether?

I have a feeling that at some point they will completely close off the discovery centre and redevelop the inside to make it bigger and put new enclosures in to make it the reptile house. If I remember right they wanted the reptile house to be open late this year and that wouldn't be possible if they were to build a new building
The eventual plan is to turn the Discovery Centre into off-show facilities and keepers quarters.
In separate news, the Asian elephants have a new addition-Karishma has given birth to a little girl!

was at the zoo on Friday so will post some photos, not much change since I was there last but there are now fences around some of the tree's in the Bongo paddock (which I admit is not the most exciting thing to report). Also work on the new elephant house is coming along well.
Will the dino's be in one place or will they be all around the zoo? For some reason I had visions of them being in the old woodland bird walk area.

The new baby elephant has been called Elizabeth, as she was born so close to the 90th birthday celebrations for the Queen.

The African Dwarf croc eggs have hatched, with the nest successfully producing 4 hatchlings.
Thanks for this info, last time I was at Whipsnade at the end of April, the keepers were hopeful that some of the eggs would hatch.

Incidentally: which species of African dwarf is now confirmed they hold?

That is a question I would very much like to know the answer to as well,as I think they may have 1 of each!
If Zootierliste is to be believed (I know they're not entirely believable) then it's the third unnamed species (so not the tetraspis or the osborni species)
As osborni is extremely rare in captivity, when zoogiraffe said "one of each" I believe he meant tetraspis and the new taxon - these being the two taxa which are knocking about in any real numbers.
