Fair enough, but I still feel the conditions in HWP are not salubrious for Buchara deer from dry cold non humid desert-steppe areas. That was more or less my point.
Aside, they did lose an unacceptably high number of animals .. (although I applaud the determination and self-acclaimed "love" of senior staff in bringing in this species).
That's true to an extent, though the survivors are proving they can live and breed in that climate, and photos show they seem to look healthy enough. I plan to visit there in September so I may find out more at first hand.
Nor do I know exactly what killed all the other females- but they seemed to die off very close together. Was it poisoning. e.g. ragwort?
