Two female Giraffe scheduled to arrive in October followed by one male next year.
Four Cheetah arriving late this year or early next year.
Our first ape species to arrive by the end of the year.
New laws in the State of Queensland are allowing an application to be made to keep Maned Wolf here.
Leopards still in the hands of the EEP.
Bears will probably be later rather than sooner.
Otters have been delayed due to a change of recommendation from the program.
Bongo have had a few setbacks but the new Bovid IRA [whenever it is eventually finalised] will allow much needed imports direct to this country.
Some new ungulate species have jumped the queue following the proposed sale of Mary River Station in the NT.

I realise that I'm a year late answering this thread, but I'd absolutely love to see a second group of Dusky Langurs in Australia. In my opinion, they are the most beautiful monkey species on display in Australia and it would be great to establish a second group since they are already housed in Adelaide Zoo.
As well as a second holder for Francois langurs too
I second (third?) the motion that zoos in Australia need to take up the commitment of both Dusky and Francois langurs. Since the region decided unanimously to delete macaques then it seems ridiculous that the other main group of SE Asian monkeys have been ignored. It wasn't so long ago that there were thriving populations of Entellus, Purple-face langurs and Silvery leaf monkeys in Australian zoos either (admittedly always only kept at single institutions...).

We will be acquiring Siamang.
The Bovid IRA just drags on and on. For at least 2 years it has been going to be finished "by the end of the year". Nobody seems to know which year. A pity, as there are a lot of potential bovid imports on hold until it is finalised.
Not sure that the region unanimously decided to phase out Macaques. There will be an import of Sulawesis long before we see any more Langurs imported.
More Langurs would certainly be great - but getting other regions to part with viable specimens is a challenge.

Some news being they have a trio of Siamang now from Adelaide zoo.

As mentioned else where the birth of a baby Grants Zebra which is a first birth in Queensland.
I believe they are planning a new larger Lion exhibit and leopard exhibit for the near future also A new enclosure for their Baboon troop and the Giant Tortoises.
Lots happening there atm.

DDZ have rhino iguanas and a male guanaco.I’m going out on a limb herebut I reckon you should get stoats , leopard geckos , elephants ( I know, small chance ) warthogs , sloths and Binturong as well as guanacos and maybe rhino iguanas.

Seems unlikely....they are in very low numbers in private hands. I know that the male is in with female llamas.

Warthogs - unfortunately will never eventuate. Even pig farmers cannot import new genetic material.
Guanacos - only possible from NZ
