Rüppels vulture and White-backed vultures both are incubating an egg

Yesterday ( Jan. 25 2016 ) a Fishing cat was born .

After the dead of both Slender-snouted crocodiles last year, Rotterdam Zoo recieved now 2 new animals from the old Emmen Zoo.
Today a Giraffe was born at Blijdorp .

2 Amur leopards were born at Rotterdam but both have died

The mother of the Amur leopards is Vatne and I don't know if she had bred before'
The father is Cema and from him I know these were his first young.

She has on several occasions, only one cub over the entire time spent at Zoo Leipzig has survived, all others were either stillborn or did not last very long ...
This afhernoon an American bison was born at Blijdorp .

First 2 Toco toucans of 2016 have hatched about 2 weeks ago, they are being hand-raised.

Indian rhino female Namaste is pregnant by male Gujarat, which is on loan at Rotterdam from Planckendael .

Male Malayan tapir born. Worth mentioning that the last tapir birth was 18 years ago!
