Mixed gorilla habitats

What are some of the species that you have seen living with, or that currently live with gorillas in captivity? Here's a few off the top of my head:

Artis group = meerkats and Sykes' monkeys

Burgers' Zoo group = golden-bellied mangabeys

Apenheul group = black-nosed patas monkeys and L'Hoest's monkeys (and soon collared mangabeys)

Rotterdam group = (formerly) greater spot-nosed monkeys

Gaia group = black crested mangabeys

Beekse Bergen groups = black-and-white colobus and black crested mangabeys respectively

La Vallée des Singes group = black-and-white colobus and lesser spot-nosed monkey (and formerly red-tailed monkey)

Anyone got any others they want to share? :)

I've seen all the dutch combinations in person but I would be intrested to know which was the first zoo which placed other animals together with their gorilla's - must have been quite revolutionaire at that time ?

Would it be Apenheul? They initially had Patas with theirs pretty soon after the exhibit opened.
 
I think it would be interesting to also hear the mortality rate of primates introduced to Gorilla enclosures as I believe individual gorilla personality is a grater factor than primate species within reason.

I have personally heard of many different primaries dying in this situation. ( never the gorilla )
 
Edinburgh had a pair of Diana monkeys with their gorilla pair - perhaps 15 or 20 years ago. A little more recently, Howletts had a pair of Samango guenons with Kijo's group in the gorilla enclosure nearest the zoo's entrance.

I don't think either arrangement was particularly successful, and the guenons were eventually moved out.

Port Lympne once had a single male(Jomie) living with a Colobus monkey which he killed and partially ate. Later the gorilla was sent to London Zoo and tested positive for Hepatitis B. He died two years later- if it was due to the Hep.B, then its likely the monkey may have indirectly killed him as the Gorilla was born at Howletts so seems unlikely to have contracted it another way.

London Zoo housed the eastern lowland gorilla "Meng" with the chimpanzee "Jacqueline" back in 1938.
 
I have heard of red buffalo living with gorillas, though for the life of me can't remember where...?
 
Valencia mixed one of their gorilla groups with sitatunga. I don't think they're still together, though.

I read somewhere very recently that London Zoo housed the eastern lowland gorilla "Meng" with the chimpanzee "Jacqueline" back in 1938. Not sure where I might have read that.... perhaps Tim May might know :cool:
 
Little Rock Zoo had a group of wild, native rabbits take up residency in the gorilla enclosures. They bred, multiplied, and thrived well on the gorilla leftovers.
