Bat-eating Cave-living Orange Dwarf Crocs in Gabon

I found this very interesting: Dwarf crocodiles living most of the lifetime in caves and feeding with bats that falls on the floor. Older males turn to show orange colour most probably due to alkaline water in the caves; youngsters better developed than their counterparts in the rainforest, because of the free bat-diet :) :

It would be very intresting, to see nocturnal cave-like enclosure in a zoo, with crocodiles like these and with bats. :eek:

Central Park Zoo has a dark exhibit with a Cuvier’s caiman and Seba’s short-tailed bats in it. Too bad that many crocodilians eat bats...
I hope you indicated the author of said photo on FB...
