Reactions: Leopard Lee
Just so nobody turns up and is dissapointed - WMSP no longer keep this species. Both males pictured went to Ireland earlier this year

is it the pacing that causes people to view this enclosure so badly?

I know the leopards have gone but this photo demonstrates pacing behaviour very well. This behaviour has always interested me. It seems to replace the time spent in the wild patrolling their territories. The cats never look distressed while they are doing it, just exercising themselves. Yet people always associate it with a negative or 'stereotyped' connotation. I doubt changes in the enclosure design would prevent it either.

I have always associated cats pacing in an enclosure with them waiting/looking for an opportunity to escape.
