This is the end of the exhibit with natural substrate and some branches. This exhibit has been vastly improved over the last couple of years but I think a better solution would be to destroy it and ship the baboons out to Werribee.

the second most logical place to plonk it would be were the giant tortoises would be. as it would allow the zoo to thematically link the giraffe/zebra/bongo paddocks with the zoos only other major african savanna exhibit - the lion park.

it also isn't a big deal to demolish. and is an easy species to relocate within the grounds.

the first most logical place would be werribee.

I've heard that it will be moved to the site of the bongo exhibit from a keeper but he said it was mostly rumours at the moment.

bad move.

it locks in the australia section from expansion. why they want to maintain two baboon species at melbourne anyway is beyond me.
