Nice mixture of species. And yes it looks boring for the gorillas. Do they have any climbing structures?

Give this exhibit another year and it will be very different.

That's cool, seeing gorilla's in with different species.

Yeah, they oughtta toss a few of those spare colobus in with the gorillas in San Diego and see what happens ;)

Originally, it was planned that some species of guenon was to have been exhibited in with gorillas at San Diego. The primate staff at the time were concerned about how to keep them in, so it may never have happened. For a few years Bronx kept DeBrazza's in with gorillas at Congo Gorilla Forest, but the last time I was there they were nowhere to be found and the identification graphic was gone. Too bad.

This exhibit would be astounding if there were any plants in it. With all of the species kept there, it will be very hard to get anything lush established now.

I hope that one or two years this exhibition has changes that provide climbing structures (though I doubt it) and more shade, other species living with the gorillas is de Brazza monkeys, cranes and duikers planned for to live here too.

How large is this exhibit compared to what we can see in the photo?
I'm very glad to see someplace trying different species mixed with great apes; apart from big primate/smaller primate mixes, the only hoofstock-ape exhibit I've seen is/was at Columbus Zoo (bonobo + red river hog), although on my last visit it looked like interactions between the species were being discouraged.
