This tiger habitat is half an acre with a pond, grass, real trees and rocks. Unlike most city zoos that have fabricated rocks and little natural materials... like most habitats built at this zoo it is built for the animals enjoyment not the visitors. The tigers have room to run swim and a tower to jump, climb, and rest in the sun with a great view of the park. The fencing is 16ft high with interior electric on bottom middle and top which is not required but is added for safety. It also has an 8 foot barrier fence to keep the public back at a safe distance, unlike city zoos that have a 4ft barrier that people can fall in an get hurt... the extra post are there to help support the new post as the cement settles. From your pics and post it is noted that you take pics that can come off only in a negative way and like to post unfounded comments. It is good to ask questions and get the facts but one sided attacks...
Thanks for the information! In my mini-review of this zoo during the summer of 2014 I actually praised many of the enclosures (grizzly bear, black bear, lion, tiger, cougar, etc.) and I was impressed with the naturalism and size of the habitats. However, just as many exhibits at the zoo are absolutely brutal (leopard, baboons, chimpanzee, several other primate species, etc.). There is a real "homegrown" feel to many of the small mammal cages.
