They arrived in mid-2007.
I think it would be great if Monarto was able to breed the black rhinos as well as the whites. Wouldn't new enclosures need to be built if females did come to the zoo?
They have bred the whites in the past, one offspring is still there while the first born (Watoto) was sent to Australia Zoo, where soon after I think he died. They were attempting to breed the whites again but the male escaped from the enclosure so breeding has been halted, but the escape was a long time ago. I was lucky enough to be there the day the second born white rhino was born.
