I'm glad to see that changes have been made because I think this exhibit isn't too bad now. I think other zoos could learn from their example.

The exhibit looks much better than it used to, and that is great news for the orangutans. However, the huge concrete tunnels are still in there, so does that mean that the red apes have to wear construction helmets while in the outdoor enclosure?

I hate the pipes but if they weren't in there then there wouldn't be any weather protection at all.

It could be rather good with a few trees, bushes etc is there any chance of either filling in the moat or perhaps putting water in it?
Its quite small but it could still be very good.
Good Luck to blackpool Zoo in improvement.

Maybe half an acre (including the wide concrete moat!). Not huge, but adequate.

I'd say it was probably less that, but like you said it is adequate. I like the fact that all the ground area is taken up by climbing frames, and it shows because I only saw one orang on the ground for a very short time. They seem to like the tubes too, they could paint them green and put some bamboo and that in. Wouldn't look particularly natural but it would break it up and make it look a bit nicer.

Adding some really-really tall pole (like chesters lion tailed macaque enclosure for example) would also make this exhibit nicer.

Lol why? They seem to like them :)
