Luka never actually lived at Longleat - the mother Johti was sent to Belfast on breeding loan and returned pregnant. The calf was killed by an African bull,. has been around a bit:
The same pair produced a calf at Woburn in 1990 which was stillborn.
His wandering ways look set to continue as Terra Natura are gradually disposing of their animal stock. He is only 36 years old and should have plenty of years left in him yet.
Is that the same female Jothi that bred with him when he was at Belfast and reared her daughter Vishesh? hey are now in Europe somewhere(Ostrava?) and both mother and daughter are pregnant.
I'm sorry to hear Luka will have to move yet again. I think he deserves better than all these moves.
Looking at the video he seems to have an empty eye socket- or is it just the video?
One and the same - they were together at Woburn for several years until Johti moved to Longleat (via a breeding loan to Zurich) and then on to Belfast where they were reunited in 1992. When Johti was found to be pregnant she was sent to Longleat to give birth but returned to Belfast where they eventually produced Vishesh. This must be the only time that a pair of elephants has produced calves in three different collections (though two were conceived at Belfast).

He could certainly do some ripping with those tusks , such an animal rampant could indeed do some harm, i too feel sorry that the asiatic elephants have moved on , i never got to see this magnificent bull elephant but im sure he was quite a sight to behold
He's one of the most magnificent bulls I've seen in pictures. In Benidorm his favourite cow is apparently Petita. Which happens to be unfortunately the outcast of the herd.
Of the four cows he currently stays with, none of them have given birth prior, there is Momo who is 26, however it is highly unlikely that she will become pregnant at this age because she has not given birth before.
Which is a shame really, for a magnificent bull like him, he only has two living offspring.
