Burmese Rock Python Albino

great looking snake,

I've read that Burmese and Indian rock are very closely related. So it wouldn't surprise me if it was an African rock.

Errr, I don't follow???

Burmese pythons, Python molurus bivittatus and Indian pythons, P. m. molurus are subspecies of the same species, so are indeed closely related.

Neither of which occur on the same continent as the African rock python, Python sebae, which doesn't look like this anyway and does not occur in an albino form...

This is a very easy identification kids. (well done Ash ;) )

Very different looking snake, Paignton have one in their snake pit with a retic and Burm. I wonder what they'd look like in albino form, guess I'll never find out lol.

that has different marking on the top of the neck ;O

im not even sure wat species that is XD but the albino is a african rock python 100%

I'm honestly baffled as to how you are still arguing this!?!

The linked picture was 100% African Rock Python.
The above picture is 100% Albino Burmese Python.

I doubt that Dudley Zoo holds the only albino African Rock worldwide, no albino african rocks have ever been discovered or bred to this day.

I know a Burm when I see it, albino or not...

I'll go with JerseyLotte and my first guess, the markings on the rock are completely different. Plus, I take Lotte's word on there being no albino rocks in captivity.

It's ok Ash, I've just realised we're being led astray by an over enthusiastic but misinformed youngun...

I wouldn't have posted but I hate seeing people who are correct, "corrected" by people who are not as knowledgeable as they think they are.

uups misread adrain's sorry lotte!!! and i swear that one aint a african rock python coz a picture on arkive looks different :O

I am now confused lol. Which one are you on about? The one Lotte provided a link for or the albino one in the gallery?
