If you read the planning applications (I know most people won't for collections they don't regularly visit) the use of agricultural style utilitarian barns has been specified by the council so that the wildlife park is in keeping with the agricultural local area.
Doesn't mean that I think they can't be improved but it does explain why the majority of the animal houses have the same, simple design.
